Above The City

They almost didn’t go.

The invitation had arrived with no explanation — just a name, a time, a location, and a line handwritten in soft ink:
“What you find here, you already want.”

Talia held the card for a long time before she showed Rowan. He read it, then looked at her with a raised brow.

“You’re curious,” he said.

“So are you.”

The rooftop was velvet-lit and hidden behind a nondescript door on the 12th floor. No one called it a club, but that’s what it was — curated, safe, beautiful. Music played softly from vintage speakers. Pillows, lanterns, champagne, low laughter.

Talia wore black silk. Rowan’s jacket was undone, and his hand never left her lower back.

They didn’t speak to anyone for the first hour. Just watched. Listened. Took in the easy way couples moved around each other — not predatory, but open. Curious, like them.

Then they met Skye and Jude.

Skye had wild curls and a voice that sounded like a smile. Jude’s gaze was steady, quiet, patient. The four of them sipped wine in a tucked-away alcove, sharing nothing more than stories. But the glances grew longer. The pauses stretched.

And then Skye reached across the space and touched Talia’s hand.

It wasn’t bold. Just warm.

“You’re welcome to say no,” she said. “But we’d love to explore with you.”

Talia looked at Rowan. He nodded — once, slowly. “Only if we stay close.”

Skye smiled. “Always close.”

They moved to a private lounge curtained with velvet. Music, soft lights, no rush.

Talia kissed Skye first — unsure, then melting into her. Jude stood behind her, his hands warm on her waist. Rowan kissed down her spine, his voice low at her ear: “You look incredible.”

Clothes came off slowly.

Rowan moved with Skye while Talia let Jude touch her with reverence, not urgency. They swapped gently, always checking in, always close. When Talia moaned under Jude’s mouth, she reached for Rowan’s hand. He laced their fingers together, his breath hot against her cheek.

She came between them — full, flushed, laughing softly as they held her.

Afterward, they all lay tangled in the velvet-draped room, the city glittering below them through tall glass.

Skye kissed Talia’s shoulder and whispered, “Not bad for a first time.”

Talia smiled. “I didn’t know I wanted this… until I watched him watching me.”

Rowan pulled her closer. “You were always meant to be seen.”
