The dinner party had ended hours ago.
Most guests had trickled out, leaving behind empty wine glasses, half-melted candles, and the kind of quiet that only happens after too much laughter. But Ivy had stayed.
Lena had always liked her — bright, warm, quick to listen, slow to judge. She was a friend, but not close. Not until tonight.
Now, she sat cross-legged on the couch, barefoot, wine in hand, her eyes softer than they’d been earlier. Will sat beside Lena on the floor, his hand resting on her knee. Music played low — something vinyl and slow.
“You two are… comfortable,” Ivy said, almost like a question.
“We are,” Lena replied, watching her. “But sometimes… we like to stretch that.”
Will glanced at Lena, his thumb tracing a circle on her skin. She didn’t look at him — just kept her eyes on Ivy.
Ivy’s cheeks flushed, but she didn’t look away. “Have you ever… invited someone in?”
“Not yet,” Will said. “But we’ve thought about it.”
Ivy exhaled — slow, unguarded. “So have I.”

The space between them felt charged. Not reckless. Just waiting.
Lena stood and crossed the room. Ivy didn’t move. When Lena sat beside her, close but not quite touching, Ivy turned to her — and that was all the permission she needed.
The kiss was gentle. A little unsure. Then deeper, more confident. Ivy’s hand found Lena’s waist, and Lena pulled her closer.
Will stayed still, watching them, eyes dark.
When Ivy finally pulled back, she turned to Will. “Is this okay?”
He smiled. “More than.”
She reached for him next — kissed him slower, different. Lena watched, her hand now brushing the hem of Ivy’s dress, her other arm around Will’s back.
They didn’t rush. That night wasn’t about wildness.
But clothes loosened. Bodies shifted.
Ivy lay on her back, Lena straddling her gently, kissing down her chest while Will kissed her thighs. When Ivy gasped, Lena whispered, “You’re safe here.”
They didn’t go all the way — but they went far enough to leave Ivy shaking, her body wrecked in the most beautiful way, her breath caught between a cry and a moan.
Later, all three of them lay in the quiet, Ivy between them, still trembling, still glowing.
“I didn’t expect this,” she whispered.
Will kissed her shoulder. “Neither did we.”
Lena smiled into her neck. “But now that it’s happened… you should probably stay over more often.”
