It was the kind of place you didn’t find unless you were looking to disappear.
A hidden retreat in the mountains — private cabins, no cell signal, and natural hot springs carved into the earth, steaming quietly under the open sky. Alina and Josh had come to reset. No expectations. Just each other, and quiet.
They met Mira and Eli in the water.
The springs were open until midnight — candlelit paths leading to shallow pools surrounded by rock and pine. Alina had noticed Mira first: her laugh, low and unbothered, the way she floated beside Eli, her hands occasionally grazing his chest.
Josh and Eli started talking first. A shared drink. A compliment about the place. Small, easy moments. Until Alina and Mira found themselves sitting shoulder to shoulder at the water’s edge, steam rising around them like smoke.
“You two seem close,” Mira said, her voice soft.
“We are,” Alina smiled. “Comfortable.”
Mira looked down at their legs — thighs brushing now, neither moving away. “Comfort’s a good place to start.”
The four of them stayed past closing. No one said it out loud, but no one moved to leave either.

Back at the cabins — which turned out to be right next to each other — Mira invited them in for tea.
But once the door shut, things changed.
Mira stood in front of Alina. “Can I?” she asked.
Alina nodded.
The kiss was slow. Testing. Curious. But once Josh and Eli saw it — Alina’s fingers in Mira’s damp hair, their bodies inching closer — the space between all four collapsed.
There was no rush to strip, no bold leaps. Just four people drifting toward something they’d all been quietly wanting. Alina kissed Mira again, firmer this time, as Josh stood behind her, sliding his hands along her waist. Eli touched Mira’s back, lowering his mouth to her neck as she sighed into Alina’s mouth.
They didn’t go all the way. Not yet.
But shirts came off. Hands slid beneath waistbands. Josh pressed against Alina’s back as Mira knelt in front of her, kissing down her stomach, her tongue teasing just above the edge of her underwear. Across the room, Eli groaned as Josh’s mouth found Mira’s chest, Alina watching with parted lips, breathless.
They fell asleep together that night, wrapped in blankets and heat, limbs tangled on the floor cushions.
The hot springs opened again at dawn.
And when they woke, no one asked if they’d see each other again that day.
They just reached for each other.
